The best way to protect your family during flu season is getting your influenza vaccine. Even healthy people can get the flu. Did you know that children, especially school-aged children or children in daycare, are more likely to get sick from the flu? Your child is likely to be exposed to flu in the classroom or daycare setting. It’s important to make sure your child and family is protected this flu season by everyone getting their annual flu vaccine.
The CDC recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older get a seasonal flu vaccine. You and your family should be vaccinated every year for the best protection against flu. Flu vaccination can reduce flu illness, doctors’ visits, and missed work and school due to flu, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations for you and your family.
