Week 2 Mini Challenge: Reading
This week’s challenge is to read! Some of you may be wondering, what does reading have to do with overall health and wellness? After all, when you’re reading, it’s likely you’re sitting down, not exerting any energy, and relaxing. While it is true that sitting and relaxing doesn’t exactly burn many calories, reading is an important practice for your overall mental health and knowledge! Reading each does a variety of things. First of all, it expands your imagination and allows your mind to tap into its creative and imaginary ideas! Second of all, it gives you some time to rest and relax but also keep your mind engaged in something interesting. Last but not least, reading expands your knowledge on different topics and gives you a wider range of vocabulary and information! It is vital to read in order to give our minds knowledge, creativity, imagination, and improve our mental health. So, this week, find a topic that you want to learn about or find a novel that you’ve been longing to read, or read the Bible! Whatever it is that you choose to read, try to set aside around 30 minutes a day to read and enjoy what you’re reading.
