Hegg Health Center Announces new Hospice Space within Hospital
ROCK VALLEY – Hegg Health Center is excited to share that it has set up hospice rooms in the existing Labor and Delivery rooms within the hospital.
Since the announcement to end the labor and delivery services at Hegg Health Center was made, staff has been busy preparing for the next use of this space. As of January 1, 2021, the rooms have been repurposed into Hospice/End of Life care space.
Very little changes were needed, due to the space being recently build. The space includes bed options for the patient, a large space for visitors, refrigerator and Keurig for personal use, as well as sleeping accommodations for family members to stay, if they wish.
“We are thankful to have this space available for hospice patients to remain local in Rock Valley.” Said Jeremy McClennen, Director of Patient Care Services. “We have been able to utilize many of the features that were put in place when the new facility was built, as well as add a few extra additions in order to provide a comfortable environment for patients and their family members to enjoy.”
Kalli Rosenblad, RN Nurse Coordinator added, “Nothing can be more difficult than watching a loved one at the end of their life. Our nurses are grateful for the opportunity to utilize their knowledge and training to provide the comfort and care needed for not only the patient, but for the families as well.”
