Diabetes & Nutrition Education

Your doctor has just told you that you have Diabetes. What does that mean to you? What do you do now?

Hegg Health Center offers an ADA (nationally) recognized Diabetes Program that is also recognized by the Department of Public Health for the state of Iowa.

Your Diabetic Team

Linda Bartl is Hegg Health Center’s Diabetic Educator.

Members of the diabetic team include your physician, a Registered Nurse (RN) Health Coach who is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and a Registered Dietitian (RD). Others included on the team are your pharmacist and any specialists that assist in your care.

Classes are offered for all diabetes needs to help equip the patient to live well with diabetes.

Diabetic Services

Services that are offered in addition to diabetic education classes are education for women who have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, women with polycystic ovarian disease, pre-diabetes counseling, community screenings, and education to name a few.

Our team is very passionate about providing quality, comprehensive diabetes care and work hard to help patients take the steps needed to prevent or delay the onset of diabetes, or help those who have a diagnosis of some form of diabetes, manage it.

Nutrition Services

Hegg Health Center has a Registered Dietitian available to assist you with setting your nutrition goals. Whether you are looking to lose weight, lower your cholesterol, gain weight, lower your blood pressure or help with your digestive system, we are here to help you.
