Occupational Therapy

Live comfortably with the help of Hegg Occupational Therapy.

Occupational therapy treats issues that arise from a disruption in a person’s occupations. Occupation is everything that people do to occupy their time, including self care, cooking, crafting, achieving developmental milestones, or work. Occupational therapy can increase independence with a variety of diagnoses.

What We Treat

  • Arthroplasties (joint replacements)
  • Spine or head surgery

How Can an Occupational Therapist help me?

A Hegg occupational therapist will work with you to overcome mental and social challenges. They’ll help you accomplish all your routine tasks and do your favorite activities safely.

During your occupational therapy session, we will work with you to identify challenges, develop goals and come up with ways to help you meet those objectives. A few examples of what a Hegg occupational therapist can help you do include:

  • Getting dressed
  • Taking your medication
  • Shopping for groceries
  • Driving or using public transportation
  • Using a computer or other technology
  • Completing your job duties

What to Expect

Before treatment begins, your occupational therapist will conduct an initial evaluation. Afterward, they will develop a treatment plan using techniques designed specifically to help with your condition. These treatments may include manual therapy with adaptive equipment, mirror therapy, driving therapy, education and training, and more.

We provide occupational therapy in the comfort of your home, or on an outpatient basis in Hegg Rehabilitation & Wellness on the Hegg Health Center campus.
