If you or a family member hasn’t been to your clinic in a while, you’ll notice some changes at your next visit. Hegg Medical Clinic is now offering virtual visits, but is also taking steps to ensure that all rooms are exceptionally clean and sanitized, so that all patients and staff feel safe.
When you arrive: you will be greeted by a health care professional in our main entry vestibule who is wearing a face mask and shield. Everyone is encouraged to wear a face mask upon entry, but if you do have one, you will be given one to use in our facility. Our screener will ask you a series of questions relating to Covid-19 symptoms. Hand sanitizer will be available for you to use. Upon entry, you will notice our registration staff may be behind a plexiglass shield. Our chairs in the waiting areas will be spaced apart to allow for social distancing.
In the clinic rooms: Hegg Medical Clinic staff clean and sanitize each patient room, each time it is used. This was our practice before Covid-19 as well. Nurses, doctors and other health care staff will wash their hands before seeing you or examining you. If you do not see them wash their hands, feel free to ask them to. You’ll notice all staff will be donning a mask and face shield when caring for you.
- You’ll see signs throughout our clinic and facility about preventing the spread of Covid-19. Please remember to wear your mask throughout your entire visit, and stay 6 feet away from other patients, when able.
- Everyone who enters the building will be asked to wear a mask. The mask should cover both your nose and mouth. Children under the age of 2 are an exception, as well as anyone who is not able to wear a mask due to their physical condition.
- Symptoms of Covid-19 include: fever, cough, shortness of breath, vomiting or diarrhea, loss of taste or smell and sore throat. Please contact Hegg Medical Clinic in advance if you do have symptoms such as these and need to be seen for medical care.
- It’s a good practice to use hand sanitizer on your way out of the facility.
All of Hegg Health Center departments are following similar practices to ensure patient safety.
We want all patients to feel welcome, comfortable and safe in our facility. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to talk with your care team. IF you have any specific questions about your next visit, please call Hegg Medical Clinic at 712-476-8100. We look forward to seeing you!
