Nicolle received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Therapy and Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota with academic honors. She has specialized in wound management and integumentary impairments including lymphedema and swelling disorders. In addition to certifications from the Lymphedema Association of North America and the American Academy of Wound Management, Nicolle is also a Certified Kinesiotaping Practitioner through the Kinesiotaping Association. She frequently educates public and medical audiences nationally and advocates for integumentary populations. She is an Associate Professor in the topics of lymphedema, edema management, and wound care as well as a curriculum advisory board member at the University of South Dakota and Briar Cliff University. Nicolle has collaborated with the Federation of State Boards and the American Physical Therapy Association regarding clinical competency and examination development, serving on several committees and councils. She has also been presented with the Emerging Leader Award from the American Physical Therapy Association and was the South Dakota Physical Therapy Association 2012 Physical Therapist of the Year, and Contributor of the Year 2021 at USD. Most recently, Nicolle is developing innovative products to address patient and healthcare clinical issues. She is currently the Director of Rehabilitation, Cardiac Rehab, and Wellness Services at Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley, IA.
