Safe Sitter Class at Hegg Health Center

Learn everything you need to know and more to be the best babysitter right here in Rock Valley, Iowa.

For the aspiring babysitter, this class will teach everything from emergency preparedness to age appropriate activities and making nutritious snacks.

Safe Sitter® is a nationally recognized, medically accurate program that is designed to prepare students to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.

Topics we’ll cover include:

First aid
Safety skills
Child care skills
Behavior management
Choking rescue
Handling emergencies
Business skills + online safety

Cost is $25 which includes a Pizza Ranch lunch and healthy snack and, upon completion of the course, a Rock Valley Kiwanis Club gift consisting of a belt bag full of essentials: a babysitter checklist notepad, mini first aid kit, LED Flashlight, pen, and the official Safe Sitter® Babysitter’s Handbook and completion card.

Are there any dietary restrictions we need to be aware of when planning for our snack?

In addition to a snack, Pizza Ranch will be served as a noon meal. Please let us know if we need to make any accommodations for your child.

By checking the first box, I hereby consent my child be photographed while participating in the Babysitter Basics class at Hegg Health Center. The term "photograph" includes video or still photography, in digital or any other format, and any other means of recording or reproducing images. I authorize the use of photographs taken of my child be used in order to assist with educational, public relations, marketing, news media, treatment, and charitable goals, and I hereby waive any right to compensation for such uses by reason of the foregoing authorization.
