Three New Family Practice Providers at HHC
Hegg Health Center is pleased to announce three new providers have signed to join its Family Medicine Team. We proudly welcome Dr. Crow, Dr. Connors Beucher, and Erica Van Surksum, DNP, FNP-C to Rock Valley, Iowa.
Jessica Crow, DO, obtained her Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004 and her residency in Family Medicine at Firelands Regional Medical Center. As a board-certified Family Medicine Physician, she brings over 15 years of experience in primary and urgent care settings. Dr. Crow is an experienced and passionate mother of teenagers, a farm girl, and an extraordinary physician and person. A prior Veterinary Medicine student, Dr. Crow looks forward to enjoying the farming and animal community that is so prevalent in Northwest Iowa and partaking in the many horse events in the area. Dr. Crow is thrilled to begin practicing Family Medicine in Rock Valley so she can be an educator, cheerleader, and teammate to her patients. Dr. Crow is now scheduling patients to be seen beginning in mid-December.
Sarah Connors Beucher, MD, obtained her Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine in 2014 and her residency in Family Medicine at St. Vincent’s East in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Sarah Connors Beucher has a passion for medical ministry, having participated in two medical mission trips to Bolivia. Having come from a large family with four siblings, Dr. Connors Beucher loves following families throughout their lives. Her original tract was OB-GYN and her passion for guiding women through gynecology and reproductive ailments remains one of her passion areas. She also particularly enjoys working with the elderly population in geriatric care and has experience in guiding patients and families through the difficult decisions that come with end-of-life care. Dr. Connors Beucher is wife to James with whom she shares three cats. She looks forward to living in the beautiful, rural Iowa setting and getting to practice rural medicine with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Dr. Connors Beucher is scheduling patients now to be seen at the start of the year in January.
Erica Van Surksum, DNP, FNP-C obtained her Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) at Creighton University. Erica’s healthcare career began over a decade ago in geriatrics as a CNA at the Whispering Heights long term care facility. Throughout her undergrad and graduate nursing schooling, she worked in many specialty areas that will serve her well as she addresses preventative, chronic disease, and acute health care needs. Erica is also a wife to Eric and mother of 2: Savannah, 2, and Jonah, 6 months. The Van Surksum family looks forward to being back in Rock Valley – a community they truly love. Erica anticipates providing exceptional primary care and creating a comfortable and truly caring space for her patients. Erica Van Surksum, DNP, FNP-C is seeing patients beginning this month.
